Opinions about Acai Berry:
one: I saw a healthy juice with the word acai on the bottle. I knew I'd seen acai all over everything associated with being healthy & since I try to be as healthy as possible, I bought the juice. I didn't know exactly what the claims were - I don't watch tv & I immediately close out all pop-ups in my browser
The bottle said the berry was high in antioxidants, so I drank it. About a week later I accidentally came across Haagen-Daz's Brazilian Acai Berry Sorbet while looking for ice cream & bought the sorbet instead. I researched what the berry was about & a couple of days later, tried the sorbet. It was delicious! I just like to eat healthy and will continue to buy the sorbet periodically (it was a much better choice than the Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream I was looking for & did end up buying the mini one of).
If I could find the actual berry & not pay an arm & leg for it, I would prefer that instead as I love to make fruit smoothies.As for the weight loss claims of the berry, I doubt it. I just lost 82lbs in 6 months the old-fashioned way, lots of exercise & making a lifestyle change to eat healthy. If anything is helping me maintain my size 6/8 figure (down from 18/20), its got to be the 14 miles I run & the 10 miles I walk every week.
two: Look like this scam does not stop even though there have been so many complaints. Now this one in Hollywood, FL also did the same thing to me. I didn't know about the scam until now. The online page didn't say clearly that it was a subscription when I signed up for a free sample. FWM Laboratories charged me $87.13 on my credit card on the 14th day after I ordered the sample. I called to cancel and they said it was too late and they could not refund me. I had to cancel my credit card to avoid future charges. This has to be stopped. It appears that the company has many names, many websites, and many phone numbers that you can't keep track.
When I clicked the Submit or Place Order button, the web page didn't acknowledge my order and didn't send me email about the order and shippment. I could not tell what I was getting and when I would be charged. Now, even I went back to the web page and tried to find out what the term and agreement were, the content had been changed. Again, the whole ad about the product is misleading.
