The ParRTI Found-ation Board recently approved the release of $150,000 toward the purchase of the Thera-View Electronic Portal Imaging System for the Claude Parrish Radiation Therapy Institute. TheraView provides the radiation oncologist and the radiation therapist with a more precise, effective alternative to time-consuming and in-convenient port films. More importantly, the improved image quality will greatly enhance treatment and patient positioning accuracy.
TheraView's advanced features allow for superior patient positioning and treatment accuracy. As the beam delivery is improved, an increase in successful patient outcome can be anticipated. The foundation of TheraView is based upon three key features: verification, accuracy and flexibility.
According to Jon Burnside, director of ParRTI, "We appreciate the dedication of the ParRTI Foundation Board and look forward to making TheraView available to the patients that use our facility. This technology will make us more attractive to individuals who are seeking out state-of-the-art treatment options."
