KIBLER, Ark. -- A local mother is facing charges after police said she didn't seek medical help for her 18-month-old's broken arm.
Investigators said Evelyn Woodward, of Kibler, Ark., told them she pulled the child out of the way of a falling kitchen appliance.
She said she initially didn't seek medical attention for the child because she believed the arm was just swollen from shots at the doctor's office earlier in the day.
Several days later family members took the child to the hospital.
Doctors found the arm was broken in two places.
Police arrested Woodward for felony child endangerment.
Her child has been taken into protective custody.
