David and Joan Boswell lived for many years at Combe Down in Bath before moving to Timsbury in March 1984.
They were married in Bromley near London after meeting at a church youth club there.
David studied dentistry at Guy's Hospital and after qualifying worked as a dental officer in the RAF during his National Service. The couple then moved to the West Country and David had a dental practice at Midsomer Norton from 1953 until 1994.
His wife studied speech, drama and singing at the Royal Academy of Music and worked as a teacher as well as performing in several radio broadcasts including Children's Hour.
The couple have a keen interest in history and David has written three books about his family background.
My Very Dearest Sweet Heart was based on the letters of James Boswell's grandmother to her husband and gave an insight into life in Scotland in the early 18th century. It was followed by Family Skeletons and Half a Millennium of Boswells of Auchinleck 1504-2004.
The couple are members of the Combe Down Heritage Society, and the University of the Third Age.
David also belongs to the Bath and Camerton Archaeological Society and the Herschel Society.
His wife was a member of the Octagon Theatre Club, Bath Opera and the Mother's Union groups at Midsomer Norton, Combe Down and Timsbury and still sings in the choir at the village's St Mary's Church, where she is a regular worshipper.
They have four children, Robert, Andrew, Katherine and Margaret, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
They will celebrate their special day with a family party and a garden party for neighbours and church members.
