View PDF | Print View Services for Eugene "Gene" Wallace Cook, 66, Boston, are at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at the Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel in Pelham, with internment at Pelham City Cemetery. The Rev. David Lamb will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Barry Perez. Pallbearers are James Cook, Jimmy Cook, Jay Elrod, Tony Hickey, Donald Singleton, Chris Sherman, Vernon Taylor and Neal Taylor. Mr. Cook died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital n Thomasville. A retired captain for the Collier County (Fla.) Sheriff's Department, Mr. Cook was married to Eunice Taylor Cook, who survives. He was a son of the late Fred and Thelma Green Cook. Mr. Cook was born Jan. 12, 1944, in Manatee County, Fla. In addition to his wife, Eunice Taylor Cook, Boston, he is survived by daughters, Eulina Young and Eugenia Ortiz, both of Boston; and grandchildren, Joshua Young, Justin Young, Carlos Eugene Ortiz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Thelma Green Cook, and brothers, Thomas Cook and Jimmy Cook. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at the funeral home.
