Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio ZANESVILLE - Gary M. Finnicum, 53, of Zanesville, died 9:26 AM Monday, March 02, 2009 at Licking Memorial Hospital Newark following a sudden illness. He was born Wednesday, March 16, 1955 in Barnesville, son of Delmas and Irene Heyda Finnicum, Sr. He married Janice Norris Finnicum on Saturday, November 05, 2005, and was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Gary was employed by Nelson Tree Service and was a 4th Degree Knight of The Knights of Columbus, Council # 505 where he also served as Grand Knight. He was a member of The National Arborist Foundation and sang in The St. Thomas Choir. Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife of the home, Gary is survived by one son, Aaron (Sarah) Finnicum of Cambridge; two daughters, Aimee Kennedy of Grandview, and Gretchen Finnicum of Caldwell; two stepsons, Charles (Jennifer) Norris, Jr. of Zanesville, and Joshua Norris of Zanesville; one grandson, Matthew Kennedy; and three step grandchildren, Slade, Marlee and Brynton Norris; one brother, Delmas (Doris) Finnicum, Jr. of Adena; five sisters, Shirley (Clarence) Clouse of Barnesville, Irene (Tom) Okel of Benwood, WV, Mary (Frank) Roseman of Indian Trails, NC, Delma (Richard) Garrett of Streetsboro, and Carolyn Miller of Belmont County; and three very special dogs, Precious, Bo Bo and Daisy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Bob Miller

Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM Thursday, March 5, at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue where a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Friday, March 6, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Fr. Jordon Turano, O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
