Locations There were 68 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Friday. At that time, there were 1,217 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,411.

Burglary, Stockton: At about 9:15 a.m. Thursday, deputies stopped a vehicle at Stagecoach Road and Highway 4 for a traffic violation. The Sheriff's Office said the driver, who was not identified, had a warrant outstanding for his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence. Deputies said they searched the car, found property reported stolen and determined the passenger, Dave Daquigan Lagoc, was on probation and was the one who had the stolen property. Lagoc, 31, was arrested on suspicion of petty theft with a prior conviction, burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Stockton Police

Battery: Police were called at about 8 p.m. Thursday to a home in the 400 block of East Acacia Street on a report that a man there was threatening his wife with a knife. When they arrived, officers found the man, 57-year-old Cleveland Hughes, outside the apartment. The Police Department said Hughes did not cooperate with officers and tried to run away. He was stopped and cuffed, suffering a split lip in the process, and spit blood on an officer. A spit hood was placed over his head, and he was taken to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment. Police said Hughes continued to fight, and, when the hood was removed, spit on people. The hood was replaced, and Hughes was booked into the County Jail on suspicion of battery, resisting arrest and public intoxication.

Gun possession: At about 12:10 a.m. Friday, officers stopped a van at California and Poplar streets for a traffic violation. They were preparing to have the van towed after learning the driver did not have a license, and as the three passengers were getting out, one broke into a run, dropping a pistol as he fled, officers said. He was chased to Park and Sutter streets, was briefly lost and then was caught in the 700 block of North San Joaquin Street with the help of a police dog. Douglas Fryman, 19, was taken to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment of dog bites, then booked into the County Jail on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a firearm and ammunition though forbidden as a felon, and resisting arrest.

Highway Patrol

The California Highway Patrol responded to six noninjury accidents and three injury accidents in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Friday. CHP officers also arrested seven people on charges of driving under the influence and recovered two stolen vehicles.
