Everything depends on the state of health of your family. If your family has a member that requires special medical care you would require more financial covering than a family who are all relatively healthy.

These factors can all be discussed with an agent and if there is not an existing medical scheme that fits all your needs they will design one for you. After all this is a policy you are purchasing to cover your medical needs so you can stipulate what you want.

There are various schemes that are already in place. If these work for you it will work out to be less expensive than an individual policy as when the policies are purchased in bulk they are discounted. The most common scheme is one that has a network of physicians who discount their services to the insurance company so that they in turn can give the policy holders the benefit of this discount.
