That's the general idea. The surgery is supposed to make eating too much uncomfortable if not impossible.
That's why it is considered a last resort for the morbidly obese who have tried everything else and failed.
I had Gastric Bypass in oct 2007. i've yet to feel hungry. I sometimes have to set an alarm to remind me to eat because if I get busy, I forget.
You have to be able to separate the physical feel of hunger and the craving to eat. If you can't get by that, the Gastric Bypass won't work for you. sometimes hunger is really thirst. sometimes hunger is purely physchological. You need to address why you are so "hungry". The psychologist that you are required to see pre-surgery will want to know that too.
I weighted well over 300 pounds when I had my surgery. I've lost 155 pounds to date. Only need to lose another 10 to be at my goal weight.
