What is a diet? Is it a strict regime one follows on a daily basis, an extreme cut in calorie intake or is it a replacement of certain foods by others? A diet need not be any one of the above although it could be a combination of all.
The reasons that diets as advertised and marketed on TV fail is that they are dependent on the nature of the diet or the supplements provided in the program as well as on a set number of days. Some diets concentrate on prepared meals, others on pills, and some on supplements and yet all of them have one thing in common; timing.
It is a known factor that if one sheds weight very quickly, one is most likely to regain that weight and maybe more as quickly also. So why aren't these diets working? For one the idea itself is psychological. In other words the person
following a certain diet develops the belief that it can be done only with the help of these diets. So the day that person stops, the mind sends a signal to the body to take a breather and relax sending the person back to mode one, the initial step before starting that diet.
Some people believe they cannot do it by themselves and someone else's idea of a pre-planned diet is better. It is all a sort of brainwash until the brain wakes up again.
Another major reason why diets fail is lack of exercise. It is proven that exercise not only helps with flexibility and increases energy but
also helps burn the extra fat one consumes or has stored in the body. Dieting without exercise is only half the work and nothing can be
completed when it is done half way. In fact exercise comes before dieting for once you start exercising your body begins to feel healthier and thus prompts you to start eating healthier too.
Speaking of healthy living, most diets lack the health ingredient which in the long run brings the person back to cravings of deprived foods during the diet and thus begins the counter effect of dieting.
In addition to the above, supplements are good if one is taking what is needed such as vitamins or calcium however supplements only to lose weight or burn fat are not a normal process to the body. It is as though the body is working on overdrive which will result in a weaker immune system and fatigue too. Also by injecting foods ino the body that are alien to it, it takes it longer to digest so dumping unnecessary supplements in the body to quicken a fat or weight loss renders it weak.
Many other factors contribute to diets failing; one being malnutrition. One can indeed
