Zulekha Hospital organizes first Physiotherapy conference on Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
In today's world, our changing lifestyle and stress has lead to a sharp increase in cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.
The consequent conversion of these ailments in to surgeries/invasive procedures has also increased proportionately.
This phenomenon has spurred Zulekha Hospital to consider including cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation as a comprehensive approach to overall patient management.
This preventive approach in managing cardiac patients has been proved beneficial and at the same time cost effective for the patients. This conference dedicated to Cardio-pulmonary physiotherapy reflects Zulekha Hospital's commitment to continuous improvement in quality of patient care.
The advantage of Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation approach can be used for early mobilization of critically ill patients as well as for patients having cardiopulmonary diseases. This cardiac rehabilitation programme at Zulekha Healthcare Group is comprehensive and will be the first of its kind in UAE.
They have assigned cardiologists to head the multi-disciplinary programme which will also actively involve the physiotherapist, nutritionist, and psychologist. The advantage of this programme is that, different packages are also available to cover patients who are at low, medium and high risk of developing Cardiac problems. Once they are classified in this category, they will be scheduled to visit the team of professionals who are involved in the holistic treatment process.
To further enhance the utility of this programme, Zulekha Hospital has also invited specialists in this field who have done pioneering work in cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation for the conference. Dr. Suresh Nair (Special Registrar - cardiac rehabilitation at the Dubai hospital) and Dr. Abeer (Assistant Professor - Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation at University of Sharjah) will be the Keynote Speakers.
Along with these experts, a panel of guest speakers with hands on experience in the management of these patients will be sharing their knowledge with the audience.
Zulekha Hospital has also been involved actively in Physiotherapy Management of pulmonary cases and is planning to set up cardiac rehabilitation programme for better patient care. This workshop was certified by DOHMS with 4 Credit Hours.
